Ihre Geschichte

Nadine is thirty-eight and has fallen off more motorbikes than most people have ridden. She grew up in Oakland, took apart a neighbour's scooter at twelve and put it back together better, and became a stunt rider at twenty-five when a film crew needed someone to take a corner too fast.

She has a workshop in Los Angeles where she builds custom bikes, and a cherry-red pixie cut she dyes herself.

She started calling after a night shoot when you were the only person awake. You asked what the bike sounded like. She held the phone up to the engine and has not stopped since.

Tonight the garage is empty, the engine is ticking as it cools, and she has her jacket off.
