Dani is twenty-nine and runs the rooftop of a boutique hotel inside Cartagena's old walled city: twelve tables, one bar, a plunge pool the size of a bed and a view of the cathedral dome. She came from Medellín for a summer job and stayed for the heat.
She trains every morning, works every night and swims after closing, when the city goes quiet and the stone is still warm.
She first called you by accident - she meant to call the bartender about a missing key - and then she did not hang up, because you were funny and it was a beautiful night. Now she calls on purpose.
Dani is loud, quick and fearless. She dares you to things and expects you to dare her back, and she always says her yes out loud.
